Going Home

My entry for *skyqeen's contest (info here [link] ), assignment was to draw her bjd Eris the ghost girl. I found the task interesting enough to take part in it myself : D

So here's my version of a scene from here [link] , a new try out on fake screenshots. I chose that part because I just felt like drawing horses so much : D That black horse is such a beauty (and so is the white horse on which Eva is riding later on in that "Awakening" series), I just don't know it's gender… But woot I'm starting to get hang of horse anatomy

I… overdid the… fake bokeh-thing on the bg, didn't I? :'D I like how it looks, if there wasn't too much of it. Also anatomy fails and lazy shadings and the cutting on the horse's legs is weird. Some lousy animators amarite? */shot*

Aaaaanyway. I think I'm getting the hang of working on a drawing longer than just a few hours : D I did the sketch traditionally, which took… a couple or something hours, scanned and made the bg, flat colors and shadings with SketchBook Pro, fixed the bg and the shadows and made the final touches with Gimp, time taken… I dunno, two or so days or something. This was a fun lil project, I quite like making these fake screenshots~

E// Ah dammit I forgot, I was listening to this [link] a few times while drawing this, and I just feel like it'd be the perfect soundtrack for that scene. Idk why really, the lyrics don't suit it well, but it's a beautiful song and I just want to put some kind of connection for it and the picture .__.
