It's a game our team finished for my first game jam Global Gam Jam 2015 this weekend and the first finished game I've been part of making
It's a single player game where you guide an asylum escapee to his friend to help him get rid of his straitjacket - you control both characters with one controller, but beware! Standing still for too long with either character will result in a Game Over. Also it should be mentioned that the escapee isn't quite... right in his mind, which will show in the gameplay as a special quirk : D
Aaaa I'm still so hyped, this weekend was tons of fun! Sure, I'm tired and I almost didn't manage to get up this morning, but damn it was worth it! I've been looking forward to this jam ever since it was announced, I missed the two previous game jams last autumn already, so it was really awesome to be be able to attend this jam! Definitely jamming more in the future!
As you might've already guessed, I was an artist in my team, one of two. I did, well, this, the start/menu-screen and the city and background assets (minus some placeholder trashcans that weren't replaced with the new ones and the motorcycles around the city, didn't have time for those. The other artist made the awesome character designs and animations.
Background drops are a new area to me, but I had tons of fun working on those, and I actually like how they turned out~ And this, oh man I had so. Much. Fun drawing this!<3 I feel almost bad, because we discussed it with the other artist and I figured that since he made the characters maybe he should get to do this as well, but he had his hands full enough with the animations and so it was decided I should do this. And damn am I happy I got to<3 Trying to imitate the character style was tricky, and that lineart style isn't something I usually do, but all in all it was fun, spontaneus and aaaaa funfunfun<3 My only regret is that I crammed the dream image too full as it is, as I got a suggestion to add rainbows and candy and unicorns in the mix but couldn't fit them anymore, ah well there's an LSD butterfly so that's somethig ;w;
All rambles aside, go go go check it out and comment and review and aaaa I'm so happy<3 If you don't have a controller it works with the keyboard too (wasd and arrows I'm pretty sure, we didn't make a tutorial because no time and let's be honest no one reads those anyways :'D)
Tomorrow is back to school and doing my personal gameprototype project (more on that as well as I get it finished!), but tonight I relax and celebrate and eat trashfood<3
