Gaaahsdkljgfokh this thing took eternity to make. I sketched made the sketch sometime in late December, and today did some finishing touches. And to be completely honest it's still not quite ready as there are at least a gazillion mistakes that could be fixed but you all know me by now and know that that's never gonna happen hahaha */shotagain*. Yeah it would just take another eternity so I'm gonna say it's done and learn from my mistakes and try to do better next time. Hopefully. Well okay granted I didn't work on this like nonstop more like little by little also it took me, idk, a month(?) to just scan it.

This picture… is filled with I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing kind of experimenting. I just kinda did something and hoped it would look good and yeah. The shading, for example. I just completely painted this thing with grayscale and then added colors on different layers using the layer blending styles and prayed it would look all right, and I'm actually cool with the outcome. Also, I wanted to try my hand at details (which pretty much failed with my lack of concentration skills but I tried), and had the most genius idea ever to draw and shade the scales for the snaketail. … Pffffft yeah wasn't as good an idea after like half an hour of sketching those damn scales |D Then again, it was kind of relaxing to concentrate on the small stuff like that. Also how do I fire? I honestly tried doing the fire myself, I did, I used multiple tutorials, but it just didn't work so I resorted using a brush set. It still doesn't look right but it looks more like fire than what I could hope to achieve with my current knowledge of digital painting.

But this guy? This guy's Xirkhan, NinjaKato's beautiful Chimera-hybrid character I found out about that time in late December a bit before I did my sketch. He's such a gorgeous character that I couldn't help the urge to draw him (also I have a thing for fatdraft horses but shush). My only wish right now is that I didn't butcher his anatomy or design too badly. Kato's a good artist and has many amazing characters, and I really wanted to do my best with this fanart, and I really really hope she likes it c': I apologize if the picture is too dark.
