Writing Assignment
Rus mind was complete blank as she stared at the empty sheets of paper in front of her, her fingers mindlessly playing around with a pencil. A letter to her future self? She had no idea what to do. Letting the pencil go she leaned forward to place her forehead on her hands with a low groan, her elbows on the desk. What had she to say to her future self? She was a present kind of person, past already gone and future unpredictable, she didn't care much for those kind of things. For the umpteenth time she picked up the paper with the assignment as well as the guiding questions, reading them through. Might as well just answer them... probably wouldn't score her a high grade, but as long as she'd pass the course. She wasn't likely to hang on to writing anyway in the future.
She picked up the pen again and placed the freshly sharpened head on the paper, took a moment to gather her thoughts, and began to write, slowly at first and erasing a lot as she went, but eventually her pace picked up until she had a paper full of words.
“Hi, me.
I'd ask 'how are you', but it's not like I'm going to get an answer, so I'm just going to assume you're good. Hopefully as awesome as ever.
What do I expect from this term... I suppose new friends? I don't know really, honestly, even f I've already been here for almost a here I still don't know what to expect from this place. I'll just sit tight and see what happens, I guess.
My academic and social goals... I've been trying to make some new friends and contacts. There's so much going on that I'm kind of having trouble grasping in all that. Academically... In long term I hope to do more with capoeira, but right now, I'm just kind of looking around and hoping to find something that picks my fancy.
Hmm, I do like sports, I still don't know that many people so I can't really say anything about that. Home economics are surprising new interest, it's messy sometimes and it's annoying if people forget to label some items (have you any idea how hard it is to tell the difference between cooked and uncooked meat by just looking? Oh. I guess you do), but it's still surprisingly fun.
I still like stars, parkour, and capoeira, and I guess home economics, oh and sports of course. Hanging around in the Moonstone Club's nice too. As for dislikes... School takes a lot of time, though I guess that's just to be expected. So much going on it's hard to decide what to concentrate on...
How do I see myself... honestly, I don't know. One semester isn't that long a time, I don't think I'd be much different from what I'm now (more tired, maybe). I'm no fortune teller, I can't predict the future!
And... that's that. Have fun reading this and thinking about the last semester, hope you've learned at least something. Bye!
You”
With finality, she put down the pencil and read through the finished product one final time. Eh, she shrugged, it's not exactly a masterpiece, but it fits the assignment, so... Good enough, she then decided and rose to take the finished paper to Professor Seguritas' box, quickly jotting down her name and house before leaving. Speaking of home ec, she still had that jelly-thing to do, as well as the cardio for gym. Rus grimaced at the thought. This was going to be one busy week.
